The Helmsman 10th Anniversary Edition

Since its humble crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in 2014, Zelos has grown into a microbrand that pushes the limits of quality and design in timepieces. This exclusive Helmsman is a tribute to our journey of materials and design over the decade, and encapsulates our motto, 'Innovative watchmaking that dares.'

This is also a heartfelt thank you to our customers, as Zelos couldn't have made it this far without your support and passion for the brand. None of this could have been possible without you guys and here's to many more years of innovation!

Celebrating a Decade of Watchmaking

The Helmsman was our first ever design launched on Kickstarter and it was envisioned as a "dress diver" to set ourselves apart from the multitude of divers available from other microbrands. It's only fitting that our anniversary piece is based on this, with refinements learnt over the years of watchmaking.

A sleek titanium case features a CNC machined cutout to break up the slab sides of the case, and we've applied a hardened coating to prevent scratches or damage during rough use. Hardened Titanium was chosen for this anniversary piece as it was the material of choice for both our halo models, the Mirage tourbillon and 8 days. The 9015 powers the Helmsman, it was the same movement used in 2014 and proves to be one of the most reliable and affordable movements out there. We've added a little easter egg on the '10th' of the date wheel, printed in yellow to match the dial text.

The dial is the star of the show, made from a fully polished Ti-damascus dial that is heated to bring out its striking colors. Ti-damascus was pioneered by Zelos for its use in watches in 2019 with the ZX series. The internal bezel has a subtle slice of meteorite with PVD coating which is another material Zelos is known for. Meteorite was one of our most popular dial options due to its affordable price back when it was launched in 2017 with the Hammerhead series. As a tribute to the older designs, the buckle is also made from titanium with a CNC cutout much like those found on the Hammerhead.
